Why Patients Trust Us for Their
Dental Crowns

Your Crown in a Single Visit
Traditional crowns require multiple appointments and weeks of waiting for a dental lab. With our in-office CEREC® system, Dr. Grant Heller digitally scans, designs, and mills your custom porcelain crown while you relax. Most patients are in and out in about an hour with a permanent restoration already in place.
Same-Day and Emergency Care
A cracked or broken tooth rarely happens at a convenient time. Our dentist in Victoria, TX, offers emergency appointments and will work to see you as quickly as possible so you aren't left dealing with pain or an exposed tooth any longer than necessary.
Financing That Fits Your Budget
Cost should never keep you from protecting your smile. Our Victoria office accepts most dental insurance plans and offers flexible monthly payments through CareCredit®, so you can move forward with treatment right away.

Why We Prefer CEREC Technology
CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. This may sound complicated, but it's actually a system that greatly simplifies the process of getting a dental crown. There are several advantages to CEREC:
Speed
Historically, dentists would outsource crown production to a lab, forcing patients to wait weeks for the finished product. CEREC crowns are designed and fabricated here in our Victoria office and are typically ready in less than an hour.
Precision
CEREC uses computer-assisted design (CAD) and computer-assisted manufacturing (CAM) to transform precise digital impressions into a blueprint for your crown. This means your crown is precisely crafted to your smile, looks like your other teeth, and complements your bite.
Protection
In the past, patients would wear a temporary crown while they waited for the lab-made permanent version. CEREC eliminates the need for temporary crowns, giving you the necessary oral health protection before you walk out the door and saving you some money.

We Accept Insurance & Financing
Our team believes dental care should always be affordable, and we do what we can to place it within the budgets of our patients.
Dental insurance often contributes to the cost of a crown when it's used for restorative purposes. However, if your crown is used to conceal cosmetic flaws, you'll likely have to pay out of pocket.
Our Victoria dental office accepts most insurances and will help you maximize your benefits. If you are uninsured or have out-of-pocket costs, we accept CareCredit® financing.

3 Benefits of Dental Crowns
Improved Function
Crowns strengthen the structure of a tooth after trauma, decay, or root canal therapy. With a crown from our Victoria dental office, you'll be able to eat, speak, and enjoy life without dental pain.
Lifelike Results
Our crowns can be made from a variety of materials, including multiple natural-looking options. Dental porcelain is a popular choice because the resulting crowns look indistinguishable from the rest of your teeth. Many patients are surprised at how seamlessly their crowns blend in with their smiles.
Enhanced Appearance
Whether your crown is used to strengthen a damaged tooth or to conceal a cosmetic concern like deep discoloration, this treatment can bring balance to your smile, enhance your facial appearance, and make you look healthier and more youthful.
Restore Your Smile in One Visit
Having a broken, damaged, or exposed tooth can feel nerve-wracking. While the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) states that crowns are the most frequently applied dental restoration, you may have a few worries about them.
Many patients fear that once their tooth is damaged, they will have to wait weeks or even months for a dental crown. Even if they receive a temporary crown to address this concern, they may instead worry about having to return to the dentist for a second appointment.
At our Victoria dental office, you won't have to worry about restoring a tooth for much longer. Instead of placing a temporary crown, we will use our state-of-the-art CEREC machine to craft a crown that looks just like a natural tooth. Whether you have experienced tooth decay or you're reinforcing a tooth after a root canal, our CEREC machine can alleviate at least some of your dental worries.
We Also Offer Lab-Made Options
While same-day crowns are a fantastic option for many of our Victoria patients, there are still reasons why we might recommend a traditional lab-made crown in some situations.
CEREC restorations are all made from dental porcelain, a strong material that matches the color of your natural teeth. However, some patients may opt for a different material based on their budget or needs. In addition to porcelain, a lab can create dental crowns out of a variety of materials including zirconia, gold, and porcelain fused to metal. During your consultation, we can discuss all of the options and determine if you are a better candidate for a CEREC crown or a lab-made dental crown.

Choose a Dental Team That Truly Cares for You

At Grant Heller, DDS, our goal is to make you feel at ease from the moment you walk in the door. That way, you feel comfortable and cared for during your treatment.
For our dental team, every detail is important, both big and small. Whether that means our convenient text reminders before an appointment or a same-day crown so you can return to your life with restored dental function, we will aim to give you exceptional care.

Same-Day Crown Treatment Timeline
Your CEREC crown can be ready in about an hour, so you can return to your day quickly.
Implant-Supported Crowns Replace an Entire Tooth
If you are interested in replacing missing teeth with dental implant-supported crowns, your treatment timeline will look different.
Implants are placed in a surgical procedure and fuse to your jawbone over about four to six months. When this process is complete, we move on to the next phase of placing the prosthetic tooth. While the dental implant treatment process can span several months, it is ultimately considered the best solution for patients with a single missing tooth.

Caring for Your Crown
Caring for your new crown is easy, no matter if it's a traditional crown or supported by an implant.
Oral Care Routine
When it comes to your oral care routine, you just have to treat your crown like you would a natural tooth. Be sure to brush your teeth and crown twice a day with a soft-bristle toothbrush and nonabrasive toothpaste. Floss once a day and be sure to floss around your implant if you have one.
Eating Habits
Avoid chewing especially hard, tough, or sticky foods directly on your crown. Tough and hard foods can damage your crown, and sticky foods could pull it out of place. Also, be sure not to use your teeth as tools, as this can damage your crown and teeth.
Regular Checkups
Be sure to keep up with your twice-yearly checkups with our Victoria, TX, team. Our dental hygienists will give you a thorough cleaning to help contribute to a healthy environment to support your crown. Dr. Heller will examine your crown and let you know when it's time to replace it.
When cared for properly, dental crowns can last 10-15 years. If you receive a dental implant, with good care it can last for the rest of your life. When you eventually need a new crown, we'll be here to make one that's perfect for your smile.
